SABAH launched its first ever product range under SABAH logo at the ‘Pro Food-Pro-Pack’ exhibition held at BMICH in July 2012.
The third India exposure visit of the HBWs in Kalutara district was successfully completed during the 28th March to 09th April. 19 HBWs were participated along with 02 Vidatha officers, one officer from IDA and one consultant responsible for Kalutara district. The visit was locally organized by SABAH Sri Lanka with the support of Science and Technology officers of the ministry of Science and Technology and the Industrial Development Authority. Participants were selected out of the HBWs took part in locally organized trainings by SABAH. The visit was hosted and facilitated by SEWA-India. The visit followed by visits to food industries, women groups and different SEWA bodies in India was helpful to enhance the knowledge of home based workers.
Four brand promotional events were organized at Mahaweli Authority, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Provincial Ministry and Railway Department during the months of August and September.
More than 50 participants from each ministry engaged in the programmes. Followed by an explanation about the products and SABAH, a demonstration of preparing food items with Sabah products was done by an experienced chef. The participants had an opportunity to taste the food made with Sabah products. Lucky winners of a raffle draw received Sabah gift packs.
